How we work

  1. 01

    Pre-install survey

Site survey including stabiliser platform inspection, cable routing plan, RF interference check with existing radar and Inmarsat antennas, and clearance arcs.

  2. 02

    Supply & customs

We source from authorised distributors and handle customs clearance and import permits across Colombia, Panama, Mexico, USA, Brazil, Argentina and the Caribbean.

  3. 03

    Mechanical & electrical install

Crane the antenna into position, bolt down, terminate cables (typically RG-8 or fibre), ground, terminate the modem and configure the hub-side gateway.

  4. 04

    Commissioning

Pointing and skew adjustment, BER test, throughput test, hub handover, IP-plan documentation, and acceptance sign-off.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How long does a VSAT antenna installation take?

A single antenna swap takes 1–2 days alongside. A full dual-VSAT install with cable runs takes 3–5 days. Dry-dock retrofits allow week-long scopes with full hybrid SD-WAN integration.

Can you remove the old VSAT and certify the replacement?

Yes. We handle decommissioning, removal, customs return of the legacy unit, and full commissioning of the new antenna with manufacturer-approved test procedures and a sea-acceptance form your charterer or class will accept.

Which VSAT brands do you work with?

Every major maritime brand: Intellian (v60G/v100/v150NX), Cobham Sea Tel (4012/5012/6012), KNS Z-Series, KVH TracPhone V7-HTS/V11, JRC. We are vendor-neutral — we recommend the right antenna for your trade pattern and budget, not the one we earn most on.

Do you do dual-antenna / fully redundant VSAT setups?

Yes. Dual-VSAT (two antennas on different beams) plus L-band backup (Iridium Certus or FleetBroadband) is our recommended design for vessels with strict uptime SLAs. We have done these on tankers, containers and offshore vessels across the region.

What about hybrid Starlink + VSAT?

That is now the default modern setup. VSAT provides the SLA-backed baseline; Starlink provides high-bandwidth burst capacity for crew and ops. Our SD-WAN configuration routes intelligently between them, with automatic failover when one path degrades.
