How we work

  1. 01

    Site survey

Our engineer attends the vessel at port or by remote photos to map sky-view, identify mast/radome interference, plan cable runs and confirm electrical budget.

  2. 02

    Supply & logistics

We source the terminal, mount kit and cabling. Customs clearance and import permits in Colombia, Panama, Mexico, USA and Brazil handled in-house.

  3. 03

    Install & commission

Mount, cable, power, ground and align the terminal. Integrate with the ship's LAN. Configure failover routing if hybrid.

  4. 04

    Acceptance test

Speed, latency and packet-loss tests at berth and underway. Signed acceptance form, IP plan, network diagram and configuration backup handed over.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How long does a Starlink Maritime installation take?

Typically 1–2 days alongside for a single-terminal install on a standard vessel. Dual-redundant installs or vessels needing major cable runs take 2–4 days. Dry-dock periods allow full retrofits including hybrid SD-WAN configuration.

Can Starlink replace my existing VSAT?

It can, but most operators keep VSAT as a backup. Starlink throughput (150–300 Mbps) far exceeds traditional VSAT, but VSAT still offers guaranteed SLA and continues working in some Starlink coverage gaps. We design hybrid setups by default.

Which ports do you cover for Starlink installs?

Any port in the Americas. Our home base is Cartagena, Colombia, with engineers regularly attending Panama, US Gulf (Houston, New Orleans), US East Coast (NY/NJ, Miami), Mexico (Veracruz, Manzanillo), Brazil (Santos), Argentina (Buenos Aires), Peru (Callao) and the Caribbean (Kingston, Caucedo, Willemstad).

Do you handle the Starlink subscription/activation?

Yes. We support activation under your existing Starlink Maritime account, or set up a new business account on your behalf if needed. We handle the SIM-level configuration so your IT team only sees a working internet uplink.

Can you install Starlink in dry dock?

Dry-dock periods are ideal for Starlink installs — we can do hot-work on antenna mounts, run new cable trays, and integrate properly with the existing comms-room infrastructure. We typically attend at the start of dry dock, return for sea trials, and hand over before delivery.
